Publish packages
A package is a versioned, immutable set of micro-frontends. Publish it from your CI with trusted publishing, so no long-lived token is stored anywhere.
appshell is a registry for micro-frontends. Publish packages built with Webpack Module Federation, compose them into applications, and change what an application runs without rebuilding it.

An application is a shell, the packages it runs at the versions you choose, and their configuration. Activate a version, or roll back, and the next page load runs it.
An overlay points a live application at the code on your machine, for your browser only, so you work inside the application your users see.
An application supplies its design tokens, and every package it composes paints with them: one look, whoever built each part.
